A lightweight, focus-safe text-hooking interface designed for playing Japanese games (visual novels, RPGs) alongside text hookers and browser extensions like 10ten Japanese Reader.
- AutoIt Script (
agth.au3) runs in the background, continuously monitoring your clipboard for new lines from your text hooker (e.g., AGTH, Textractor). - When the clipboard updates, it writes the text instantly to a local file (
agth.txt) using UTF-8 encoding. - An invisible Python local server serves your frontend.
index.htmluses background JavaScript polling to check for updates every second, updating the display live without ever stealing focus from your game.
- Zero Focus Stealing: Your game stays active, and background music keeps playing. No disruptive window-switching or forced focus commands.
- Browser Extension Friendly: Running on
localhostbypasses local file (file:///) security restrictions, making tools like the 10ten Japanese Reader extension work flawlessly. - Auto-Updates: Changes reflect instantly in the browser without manual page reloads.
- Clean Reader Layout: Full-window layout with enlarged, readable text and
spellcheck="false"enabled to prevent red squiggly underlines under Japanese text. - Automatic Cleanup: The AutoIt script automatically spins up the Python server on launch and shuts it down cleanly when closed.
