Summary

Part of PA-9338 (macOS Intel provisioning without Homebrew's Intel bottles).

The augeas component needs autoconf, automake and libtool on macOS. Vanagon installs them with brew install autoconf automake libtool at the start of the component build, and they come from homebrew-core, which no longer builds Intel bottles and drops Intel support entirely in September 2027.

  • m4 1.4.21, autoconf 2.73 and libtool 2.6.2 are added as bottle-only formulas. Their upstream bottles are mirrored to Artifactory (generic/buildsources/macos/homebrew) and root_url points there. They have Intel sonoma, sequoia and tahoe bottles plus the matching arm64 tags.
  • automake 1.19 has no Intel bottle in core, so it is already built from source today. It is added as a source formula (about 20 seconds to build), so the build no longer fetches its formula from homebrew-core.
  • The formulas depend on each other through the tap (puppetlabs/puppet/m4, puppetlabs/puppet/autoconf).

autoconf's bottle is the same file for every macOS tag, so it is uploaded under each tag's name.

Follows #429 and #430.

Testing

  • All 18 bottles were downloaded from ghcr and verified against the sha256 in the formulas, then verified again on Artifactory after upload.
  • brew style reports no offenses.
  • Not yet installed on an Intel host. The puppet-runtime-private change that uses these formulas is the real test (agent-runtime-8.x and agent-runtime-main on osx-14/15/26-x86_64).

The augeas component needs autoconf, automake and libtool on macOS, which
vanagon installs with `brew install autoconf automake libtool` at the start of
the component build. Those come from homebrew-core, which no longer builds
macOS Intel bottles and will drop Intel support in September 2027:

* m4, autoconf and libtool still have Intel bottles, but only because their
current versions were built before the cutoff
* automake 1.19 has no Intel bottle, so it is already built from source

Add m4 1.4.21, autoconf 2.73 and libtool 2.6.2 with their upstream bottles
mirrored to Artifactory (generic/buildsources/macos/homebrew). autoconf's
bottle is the same file for every macOS tag, so it is uploaded under each tag's
name. Add automake 1.19 as a source formula, which builds in about 20 seconds,
so the build no longer fetches its formula from homebrew-core. The formulas
depend on each other through the tap.

Bottles must be uploaded to Artifactory before this is usable.
