Keep Microsoft Teams Web Status Always Available

Description

This project is a Playwright-based automation tool that keeps Microsoft Teams Web status set to Available. It works by simulating realistic user activity in the browser, preventing Teams from automatically switching the presence status to Away due to inactivity

This tool is intended for personal or internal use

Prerequisites

• Node.js
• NPM

Install Dependencies

npm install
npx playwright install

Setup and copy .env file

Please take a look at the .env.example file and fill in the required values

If you don't use Microsoft OTP, leave this field empty

cp .env.example .env

How to add a TOTP to your account

1. Go to Microsoft Security Info → https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
2. Click Add sign-in method → Select Microsoft Authenticator app
3. Click Set up a different authentication app → Click Next
4. Click Can't scan the QR code? → Copy the Secret key and keep it safe
5. Use your authenticator app to scan the QR code
6. Click Next → Enter the code from the authenticator app → Click Next
