Opencode V2 Doesn't have a way to block .claude skills #56657
Thanks for the report! We need a few details to tell whether this is already fixed.
Support for OPENCODE_DISABLE_CLAUDE_CODE and OPENCODE_DISABLE_CLAUDE_CODE_SKILLS was added to v2 in #55774 and first shipped in v2.0.30. With either variable set, OpenCode skips ~/.claude and project .claude folders when loading skills.
Could you tell us:
The exact output of opencode --version.
Which environment variable you set, and where you set it (shell profile, inline on the command, etc.).
Whether OpenCode's background service was already running when you set it. The flag is read when the service starts, so a service that was already running won't pick it up until it's restarted.
Which folders you want to block: only .claude, or also others like .agents? These variables only cover .claude. There isn't currently a way to turn off .agents skill discovery in v2.
You can reply here with the details, or edit the issue. If you edit it, please also leave a comment saying you've updated it, so we know you're done.
We're closing this for now because we haven't heard back with the details we asked for: your exact opencode --version, which environment variable you set, and which folders you want to block.
If you're on v2.0.30 or later, OPENCODE_DISABLE_CLAUDE_CODE or OPENCODE_DISABLE_CLAUDE_CODE_SKILLS should stop skills loading from .claude (added in #55774). OpenCode's background service only reads the variable when it starts, so restart it after setting the variable. These variables don't cover .agents. Missing v1 environment variables in v2 are tracked in #36990.
If it still happens on a current version, please reply with those details and we'll reopen. Thanks!
