TUI home screen (v2): version label overlaps the row above at 12–13 terminal rows #53403

Description

Description

Split out from #51563, as asked there. On v2, when the terminal is 12 or 13 rows tall, the right-aligned footer label (local in a dev run, the version otherwise) has no row of its own and is drawn on the row above.

66×13, over the keybind hint:

12| …/Des…/Project TN.ai:master shift+tab agents ctrl+p comlocal
13| ✓ Server ○ UI Theme Tools Experiments

66×12, on the prompt box's bottom border:

11| ╹▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀local
12| ✓ Server ○ UI Theme Tools Experiments

By size:

  • 66×11: label hidden, fine.
  • 66×12 and 66×13: overlap as above.
  • 66×14 and 66×15: label on its own row, fine.
  • 80×13: same overlap as 66×13.
  • 100×13 and 120×13: the label is on the hint row but there is room, so nothing is covered.

It's in the raw pty output, not the terminal: …ctrl+p + comlocal is written as one run.

The label is app.version from home/footer.tsx (local in a dev run), so a released build would show its version number there. That file shows the footer when height >= 12, but the layout only has a free row for it from 14 rows. Changing that check to >= 14 locally removes the overlap at 66×12 and 66×13 (label hidden) and leaves 66×14 unchanged. You may prefer a different fix, such as making room for the row instead of hiding it.

OpenCode version

v2 at 4aba11e (bun run --cwd packages/cli src/index.ts --standalone <dir>)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Run v2 in any project.
  2. Size the terminal to 66×13 (or 66×12, or 80×13).
  3. On the home screen, the footer label is drawn over the row above.

Operating System

Windows 11

Terminal

xterm.js over ConPTY (node-pty), rendered with @xterm/headless.

This issue might be a duplicate of an existing issue. Please check:

    • #51563: reports the home-screen footer overlapping content in short terminals; this issue describes a closely related v2 footer-label case.

For keybind-related issues, please also check our pinned keybinds documentation: #4997

Thanks for splitting this out. I can reproduce it on current v2 (66×12 puts the label on the hint row). I'll open a PR that only shows the footer from 14 rows, as you suggested.
