I am calculating strain seismograms for single forces applied on the surface to verify source-receiver reciprocity.
I set SAVE_SEISMOGRAMS_DISPLACEMENT to .false. and SAVE_SEISMOGRAMS_STRAIN to .true. However, even upon setting the flag USE_BINARY_FOR_SEISMOGRAMS to .true., the output strain seismograms are still in ASCII files. I was able to output displacement seismograms in binary previously, so this may be something specific to strain seismograms. If someone can confirm this, rectifying this would be a huge help, as it would reduce disk I/O and disk usage by a lot as the binary files are much smaller than the ASCII files.
Also, the default start time of the source-time function for single forces seems to be -1.5*halfduration unlike -2*halfduration for the moment tensor source. I didn't find any mention of this difference in the manual. If someone can confirm this, it maybe good to mention this difference in the manual or change the default start time of the source-time function for the single force source to -2*halfduration for overall consistency with the moment tensor source.
