This is a downstream fork of apache/superset that extends
Superset with a DataFusion MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector. The fork is kept in sync
with the upstream master branch automatically, and day-to-day maintenance — conflict resolution,
PR triage, CI diagnosis, and dependency updates — is handled by
GitHub Copilot agentic workflows.

| Workflow | Schedule | What Copilot does |
|---|---|---|
| upstream-sync.yml | Daily 02:00 UTC | Cherry-picks new commits from apache/superset; opens a conflict-resolution PR assigned to @copilot on failure |
| pr-triage-agent.md | Daily 09:00 UTC | Categorizes, risk-scores, and labels all open agent-created PRs; recommends auto_merge, fast_track, batch_review, or defer |
| breaking-change-checker.md | Weekdays 14:00 UTC | Scans the last 24 hours of commits for breaking changes to the REST API, SQLAlchemy models, TypeScript component props, or DB migrations; opens an issue with an action checklist if found |
| ci-doctor.md | On CI failure | Investigates failed Superset Python Unittests or Superset Frontend runs; opens a diagnosed issue with root-cause analysis and fix recommendations |
| weekly-workflow-updater.md | Sundays 03:00 UTC | Runs gh aw update to SHA-pin GitHub Actions to their latest releases; opens a PR with the diff |
When Copilot handles a conflict-resolution PR, it uses .github/workflows/copilot-setup-steps.yml to provision its environment (Python 3.11, Node 22, and the Superset frontend dependencies).
Agentic workflows (the .md files above) are powered by
github/gh-aw. Each workflow file includes a source: SHA pin
so that weekly-workflow-updater can pull upstream improvements automatically.

Superset can query data from any SQL-speaking datastore or data engine (Presto, Trino, Athena, and more) that has a Python DB-API driver and a SQLAlchemy dialect.
Here are some of the major database solutions that are supported:
