macOS Release Builds just crash on opening or won't open at all. #217
Do you actually test your builds on macOS? macOS Release Builds just crash on opening or won't open at all. Even if I "xattr -cr /Applications/..." for unsigned apps - still no joy. I tried both ARM64 and Universal DMG's. macOS GoldenGate 27.0.1 on a MacBooK M1.
I found a signing issue with the Mac builds and released a fix in v30.0.3.
The build process was modifying Electron after it had been signed, which invalidated the signature. The old smoke test wasn’t catching this either. I fixed the signing order and updated the tests to confirm the app actually opens, loads a FIT file, and displays the map.
The ARM64, Intel, and Universal DMGs passed on GitHub’s Mac runners, including testing the same Universal build on both architectures.
I still don’t own a Mac, so I couldn’t test your exact macOS 27.0.1 setup. Can you try the new ARM64 DMG on your M1 and let me know if it’s still crashing?

Yes all the mac builds are tested on Mac runners on GitHubs CI. https://github.com/Nick2bad4u/FitFileViewer/actions/runs/33715923163/job/100530009253
It runs a smoke test after every build confirming that it opened properly.
I'll take a look into this today.
I don't own a Mac so all my mac testing is done through the GitHub actions CI.
