Happy Minako Monday!
mpreg

It's been a whole 2 years since this project started, and we've come a long way! Last year I talked about how amazing it was so many people contributed, and how far the project has come. Truly it's the same, but this last year such an incredible amount of work has been done on not just the mod, but furthering P3R mod development itself.

We've developed things for Costume Framework specifically to make the Femc mod better, we've reversed filetypes, and Adrien and Ivan have done loads of work to un-hardcode the menu and develop a system to change files on boot. Event editing has gone swiftly as well, our event editing team is quite steadily making progress on what needs to be done. We also figured out physics working in battle to help lift the workload on our animators. We also finally uploaded the project to Nexus and Gamebanana!

More recently we've also settled on a ui color scheme, which is discussed more at the bottom of these patch notes!

Thank you to everyone who has contributed over the last year, and see you this time next year! Thanks to CatBoyRonaldReaganLabubu for the update art!

The Menu

The bright pink menu has been around a long time, almost as long as the mod itself. It was always a work in progress though, but now it's started to get settled and finished! The new color scheme was made by a mix of feedback from the server, and a lot of people from the main team. Adrien, Esa, Cpido, Dniwe, Kiara, Yuha, Ray, Neptune, Ivan, and Rirurin contributed towards colors, un-hardcoding, and other aspects.

One big thing that allowed this was the improvement upon my own system to hex edit files on boot. The mod actually edits the hex of various blueprints, data tables, effect files, and materials on boot. It does this quite fast, and due to how complicated the files are internally the system itself is also quite complicated.

Lots of files are stored in various ways for color, ARBG, RGB, RGBA, AGBR, and various other stupid combos Atlus came up with. There are also color curves, and other things to make it more complicated. Regardless, the menu now looks like this!

Now the model isn't is the same and needs to be changed, but the color scheme is mostly done. It's a lot better than the old pink, however if for whatever reason you don't vibe with it you can change it with the femc config app.

Also worth mentioning it's a good idea to reset, or even delete your config file for the mod for the new default colors!

The Femc Config App

The config app has been around for about a year and a half now. In that time the development for it lagged behind the normal mod somewhat. This was because it was kind of hard to balance both the mod and the app, however the tech debt involved with the app has been cleared. The code has also been cleaned up to allow for easier updates, so it's in a much better place and can keep pace with the normal mod.

The app's ui editing functionality is a lot better. You can now export and import jsons, which allows you to share your own ui setup with other people! I'll expand more on this in the future if there's enough of a demand, however for now you can just post your jsons in the server or share with friends.

This year

The goals this year are about the same as last year. Finish up ui, finish up the last of the models revised, and continue work on animations and events. Next update we should have redone hair rig, and custom hair physics I'm working on, which should allow for much better workflows.

Thanks again for the great 2 years to both team members and users, see you next update!
