The changelog entry and README line items for the 1.4.0.6010 alpha (#39, #40 and everything unreleased since 1.4.0.5762).

• CHANGELOG: the save-format box rewritten for the team's self-describing saves (a last break for saves from 5762 and stable 5660; campaign progress and high scores carry over); the 19 October sync and the Linux fixes it needed, including the hand that could pick nothing up; the ten fixes taken early; PRs gui: stop the selected-power charge bar painting a black band across the screen #24, Two bugs from the 2026-10-06 game log: scavenge loop, door navigation at level load #28 and Temple, rebirth, imp trap and hatchery fixes from the 2026-10-15 level-20 log #31–lua: scripts keep os.date, os.time and os.clock #38, which the entry did not have yet. Three statements that had become wrong are corrected.
• README: a gameplay-bugs row and section; chat/replay hardening; the game text compiled from upstream's translations. Claims about upstream re-checked against their tree: they removed linux.mk in August (#5083) and their pull-request CI builds a Linux binary they do not release; their OpenGL renderer is built on every platform and their shipped config now selects it; their music player takes any file names, one format at a time (#5061). The saves bullet describes the new format. The count-it-yourself line matches its command (408) and says 17 of those commits are the team's own fixes taken early.

Merge with rebase, not a merge commit: the build number counts commits, and the changelog heading (6010) is the count at the second commit.
