Start with:

Then review the Developer Guide and the repository README for the specific component you want to work on.

Development Principles

CeloHT development follows several core principles:

Security First

Never commit:

  • Private keys
  • Seed phrases
  • API secrets
  • Database credentials
  • Authentication secrets

Tests

New functionality should include appropriate tests.

Type Safety

TypeScript projects should use strict type checking where applicable.

Documentation

Significant behavior changes should be documented.

No Fake Functionality

A feature should never be presented as production-ready when it is only:

  • Planned
  • Mocked
  • Demonstration-only
  • Testnet-only
  • Specification-stage

Pull Requests

Contributors should:

  1. Understand the repository
  2. Review existing documentation
  3. Create an appropriate branch
  4. Implement the change
  5. Add or update tests
  6. Run required checks
