when compiling mpfr, config says "configure: error: bad GMP library or header - ABI problem?"

hello,

i am compiling some things on a PowerPC machine that require a newer GCC, however i cannot compile GCC without gmp, mpfr, and mpc. the machine is running Debian 8 Jessie/sid, architecture is PowerPC64

GMP compiles fine, i did it last night. however today when compiling mpfr, i get a error after running ./configure CC=gcc
