User pivot jsonable fields not editables

On the User controller, awards can be added to pivot data with

1 - "Pivot model" tab :
Adding pivot data (awards) work's well, the data are present in DB; but when editing them the repeater field is not filed.

2 - "Pivot data" tab :
Throw an error "Unexpected type of array when attempting to save attribute "awards", try adding it to the $jsonable property." on line 824 of ...\vendor\winter\storm\src\Database\Model.php.

Additional question:
Is it possible to edit role data and pivot model data in the same pop-up?

@damsfx sorry for the delay in responding.

My understanding is pivot data is still not fully supported in a fair few core functions. I always find it more reliable to modify the intermediate models directly if I need to store "pivot data", rather than relying on pivot data functionality in Winter/Laravel.

That being said, we'll look into your example above and have a look at the difference there.

I tested the User Controller, it still throws:

When using the tab “Pivot Data”, but I think it’s because a generic pivot cannot utilize validations and casts:

        'roles_pivot' => [
            'Winter\Test\Models\Role',
            'table' => 'winter_test_users_roles',
            'pivot' => ['clearance_level', 'is_executive'],
            'timestamps' => true
        ],

On the tab “Pivot Model” it works well and saves correctly. It declares the pivotModel:

        'roles_pivot_model' => [
            'Winter\Test\Models\Role',
            'table' => 'winter_test_users_roles',
            'pivot' => ['clearance_level', 'is_executive', 'awards'],
            'timestamps' => true,
            'pivotModel' => 'Winter\Test\Models\UserRolePivot',

In the table the column awards is json and in the model is jsonable:

    /**
     * @var array Attributes to be cast to JSON
     */
    protected $jsonable = ['awards'];

[{"date":"2025-04-25 00:00:00","title":"test 1"},{"date":"2025-04-26 00:00:00","title":"test 2"},{"date":"2025-04-27 00:00:00","title":"test 3"}]

But it still doesn’t populate the repeater field.
