Thanks to Or Sattah for suggesting that quantum copy protection may be worth exploring for future TEEs. The very rough idea is that quantum copy protection would prevent both observing the secret root key of a TEE and cloning (emulating) a TEE.
It may be worth asking whether TEEs are needed in a quantum setting 😆 🤷♂️
