Error on Save/Publish

Problem Description:

I can log in successfully and the "Test" function works fine (the simulation preview loads normally).

However, when I click the "Save" or "Publish" button, an error pops up: "The translation utility experienced an error. Failed to fetch." (as shown in the Fig on the right)

This error occurs every time I try to save or publish.

What I have tried:

1. Allowed cookies and JavaScript from phet.colorado.edu in my browser.

2. Disabled all ad-blocker and privacy extensions.

I logged into my PhET account and was able to reproduce:

I just scanned through Rosetta's logs and can see two problems:

• Rosetta is unable to get metadata from the website. All requests appear to be failing.
• The database used for short-term storage is refusing to connect. This implements the "Save" functionality, so that would explain why they can't save.

These are both problems in Rosetta's interaction with the web server. I've communicated these issues to the website team and will see what they say.

I ran a test where I tried to use the "Save" button (Abkhazian translation of Chains) and could duplicate the problem. However, I tried the "Publish" button after making a minor change, and that seemed to work fine. This makes sense to me, because the problems reported in the log shouldn't block publication since the code has a fallback for the case where it can't get metadata (it just uses the most recent copy that it has). So I'm not sure why the user wouldn't be able to publish.

I think we should address the two known problems and ask the user to try again, and see if the problem clears up for them.

@oliver-phet - The website team fixed an issue with the DB, so I think the "Save" functionality should now be restored. I wasn't able to duplicate the problem with publication. Can you please respond to the user who reported this and see if it's working for them now?
