OSS today but what is roadmap/plan of openrig as a "product"

Saw the herdr video yesterday on youtube and got really excited about it!

Before using this in an enterprise setting, I just worry about if this is going to become a paid service in short term. Got any details on how OpenRig is being run (i.e. under a company) and if there are plans to become a paid product you'd want to share?

Good question, and sorry for the slow reply.

I’m a solo developer, and I started OpenRig as a personal project. And now, very suddenly there’s a growing community helping build it.

My intention is to keep OpenRig open source under Apache 2.0. If I make a business around it, the idea I have in mind is your typical paid hosting, enterprise features, etc. alongside the open-source project. I haven’t worked out the commercial details yet.

If you’re evaluating OpenRig for a commercial use case, or would be interested in a hosted/managed version, I’d love to hear what you’d need. I’m getting enough interest there that I’m starting to explore whether it makes sense to build. You can reach me at hello@openrig.dev
