FinOps Hub with Power BI Dashboards PoC in personal tenant

I want to perform a PoC for FinOps Hub with Azure Data Explorer and also use the Power BI KQL Templates using my personal Azure tenant. I was able to deploy the FinOps Hub, create Dashboard in the Azure Data Explorer, but when I try to use the Power BI KQL template (currently just Cost Summary), I cannot connect to the Data Explorer from Power BI template. When trying to connect from the PBI to the ADX data source, the only option I see is for the Organizational Account. When I use my personal account, I get the "Access Denied" error and I cannot connect.

Will FinOps Hub Power BI dashboard not work with personal account/ tenant?

Hi @jameswhite1981,

I was using Power BI desktop to connect to the ADX data source and I realized that I was not using the right domain. Even though I kept signing in with the correct account, I had not changed the domain.

I followed below steps to change the domain:

1. For the Power BI Report, click Transform Data -> Data source settings
2. Select the ADX Data source and click "Edit Permissions"
3. For Credentials, click "edit"
4. On the Organizational Account, click "sign in as different user"
5. You should see a pop up to select an account. Select "Use another account"
6. This should take you to the Sign in screen, scroll to the bottom and click on Sign-in options
7. In the Sign-in Options, select the "Sign in to an organization" option. This should take you to a pop up asking to enter the domain name of the organization to sign in to. Enter the Azure Domain (found in Azure Portal-> Switch Directory and selecting the right tenant where the ADX is created)
