Very cool @luizgununes, love it. Sorry I was late to release 1.0. Shouldn't be too hard to upgrade though (others have without any major hiccup). I'll list this on the new Basecoat site. |

Hello everyone!
I'm the front-end developer at Amplifique.me, a Brazilian customer experience SaaS, and after months of work we've finally migrated our Angular app from Bootstrap to Tailwind, using Basecoat as our UI kit.
Bootstrap had been showing its age for a while. It was limiting — every time we wanted something slightly off the default, we ended up fighting the framework instead of using it. Meanwhile, the shadcn-style look became really popular for a good reason: it's minimal and functional, it gets out of the way and lets the product speak. That's exactly what we wanted for our UI, so we decided it was time to move.
We're big fans of shadcn here, but our app is built with Angular and rewriting everything in React wasn't an option — not even with AI helping out.
We gave a few UI kits a shot and, after some research, found Basecoat in a Reddit thread. We couldn't be happier.
The migration took 5 months and landed on Basecoat 0.3. Unfortunately, 1.x was released when we were already in the final stages, so we decided to postpone the upgrade.
I'm only attaching 3 screenshots to give you a taste, but there are dozens of screens in the app — that's why it took so long. And it paid off: our bundle size is noticeably smaller now, and our customers love it.
The app is Portuguese-first (for now!), so the screenshots may not make much sense to most of you.
The point of this post is simple: Basecoat is amazing, and you should keep up the great work.
I'll try to contribute to the project soon.
Thanks!
