Due to a "safety feature" in Chrome and Chromium browsers (same origin policy), the loading of the local file resources is prohibited and the GeoCrunch Viewer will show just nothing.
This can be considered as a browser bug, as local file resources surely originate from the same domain.
Please use Firefox for evaluation of the demo package.
