I would say that openarm and Hope Jr do not fulfill the same use case.

Openarm: uses metal parts, and higher torque QDD actuators with therefore higher durability and power consumption but comes with a correspondingly higher price tag

HopeJr is 3D printed, has lower torque, lower power, isn't backdrivable and has lower durability, and therefore lower price tag.

Sure HopeJr can do similar bimanual manipulation tasks as Openarm, but the machines overall are quite different.

For example HopeJr uses SM8512BL Feetech on the shoulder- this isn't QDD, much less has the torque to compete with Damiao motors.

If you want to get up and running with low cost hardware HopeJr is better. If you want to collect a lot of data for fine tuning VLA's over a long time period I would be worried that HopeJr would break. For this reason, openarm is better suited for collecting a lot of VLA teleop data without hardware failure over a longer period of time.
