why what? why you should add the github link to the TER infos?
Because:

• it's a good practice and most extension authors do so
• developers trust extensions which has a available repository,( to which they can push pull requests ) more
• if you;re using composer, knowing the repo is useful
• ...

I've just needed to find this repo to check if it was active so yes, adding the information to manual is a good idea.
