Request manufacturers to properly label/identify salinity that has/has not received onboard dynamic correction, recommend use of onboard correction #26

Description

@cgrdn

RBR CTDs are capable of returning dynamically corrected salinity or raw salinity that would then require dynamic correction at the DAC level. There is a related issue with regard to tracking this information in the data system here: OneArgo/ArgoVocabs#197

The role of the Tech CoP would be:

  1. Request manufacturers clearly label which type of salinity is being returned in the data returned by the float, which can be ingested by DACs to then properly identify the data as described in the above ArgoVocabs issue.
  2. Recommend that in general the onboard dynamically corrected salinity is the default returned variable when the float user does not have a good reason to use the uncorrected version.
